Study Abroad In France For Education And Fun

France is one of the most popular countries when it comes to vacationing. However, that is not all this country has to offer. Many students from the United States and Canada choose to study abroad in France to further their education and gain valuable experience. There are many different subject that can be studied in this beautiful country and its various regions. No matter what your major, you can probably find a French study program that fits in some way. And once you do, the next step is figuring out how to apply and get approved.

For example, if you are studying fine art there is no better place to go than France. The world famous Louvre museum is only one stop for students who are studying art. There are other museums, monuments, landmarks and more to behold. And, you can learn techniques and methods of painting, sketching and drawing from French art teachers, most of whom speak fluent English. Fine art and France just go hand in hand, as does France and fine cuisine.

Culinary arts students may want to consider time at Le Cordon Bleu in France, which is where Julia Child studied. There are Le Cordon Bleu locations in the United States, but for a true French experience it is best to go right to the source. When studying in France you can learn how to make fine cuisine, desserts, breads and much more, which can prepare you for a lucrative career in a fine restaurant, at a resort or even on a cruise ship. The very fact that you studied culinary arts in France is sure to impress any potential employer.

Another reason to study abroad in France is to learn the language. Immersion study is very helpful when learning a foreign language because it is all around you. When you are surrounded by natives who speak French, you will pick it up more quickly and accurately. By spending enough time in the country, you become like a French person who speaks the language and blends in with the local culture. This prepares you to teach others to speak the language or to work as a French language translator. Of course these are only a few examples of study opportunities available. To learn about all the French study programs, talk to the advisor at your university who handles foreign study programs.
